The Dynapar Series F15 is a digital commutating encoder designed for stepper and small servo motor applications. Its flex servo-ring mounting arrangement is designed to provide an easy replacement for a Size 15 resolver, while its compact mounting depth simplifies installation.
The Series F15 uses an optical incremental encoder with an optional commutation function.
For incremental operation:
Commutation channels are available for:
Incremental: ±2.5 arc-min maximum, edge to any edge.
Commutation: ±6 arc-min maximum.
For CCW rotation of the motor shaft:
The minimum separation between the A and B edges is 45°.
The index pulse is 90° gated with A and B high.
The encoder requires:
5 VDC ±10%
Maximum current consumption is 100 mA for incremental and commutation operation, excluding the output load.
Incremental output:
Two output configurations are available:
Maximum frequency response: 300 kHz.
Bore Diameter
0.375 in (9.53 mm)
Maximum 0.002 in (0.05 mm), including shaft perpendicularity to the mounting surface.
Maximum ±0.010 in (±0.25 mm).
The Series F15 uses a 1.435 in (36.45 mm) servo ring with an integral flexure. This mounting arrangement corresponds to the Size 15 pancake resolver equivalent configuration.
100,000 rad/sec² maximum.
Continuous speed: 5,000 RPM
Peak speed: 12,000 RPM
3.59 × 10⁻⁵ in-oz-sec²
(2.5 gm-cm²)
Typical weight: 1.6 oz (45 gm).
The servo-ring mounting system incorporates an integral flexure and is designed as a Size 15 pancake resolver equivalent.
